Rainbow Trout Grand Canyon
Rainbow trout are are found in great number on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, no one can see them because the water is the color of chocolate. Occationally, the water turns green during the spring, and on very rare occasions the water is actually clear enough to photograph them. But then no one travels the Colorado River carrying an underwater housing, but I did. In addition I needed to use a remote trigger since the fish are so skiddish. This is the only image ever taken underwater on the Colorado River of rainbow trout. The image is also a semi split showing the red rock rim of the canyon.
